Appreciative Inquiry

Reverend Nate is on the planning team for Gathered Here, a joint initiative of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Board of Trustees and the UUA Administration. It is an invitation to all Unitarian Universalists (UUs) to discover our common aspirations and unleash the power of our faith through one-on-one, small group, and larger group conversations that will take place over a 16-month period (July 2011 to October 2012).
Based on “Appreciative Inquiry,” a process that engages large numbers of stakeholders to identify what’s working well in organizations, Gathered Here will encourage UUs across the continent to participate in structured interviews with other UUs. Participants will be invited to think about their lives as UUs, their experiences in congregations or communities, meaningful moments, times of growth and positive developments, and to reflect on how those positive experiences are relevant to our larger faith and how they might be applied to our collective future.
